Technical Tip: Unable to view session information under FortiView Sources
Description
This article describes a situation in which users may be unable to view filtered information in FortiView Sources, even though active traffic is visible in FortiView Sessions.


Scope
FortiGate.
Solution
Verify the role assigned to the incoming interface.
If the incoming interface role is LAN or undefined:
Use FortiView Sources to view top sessions aggregated by source.
Use FortiView Destination to view top sessions aggregated by destination.
If the incoming interface role is WAN:
Use FortiView Sources WAN to view top sessions aggregated by source.
Use FortiView Servers to view top sessions aggregated by destination.


How to enable the required FortiView consoles:
Go to the GUI Menu.
Select Add Monitor.
Under FortiView, enable Show More.
Add:
FortiView Source WAN.
FortiView Server.
