Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot when users encounter a Web Application Filter Error.

Scope

FortiGate, Web Application Filter (WAF) Error.

Solution

'This transfer is blocked by a Web Application Firewall'.

In most cases, this is a temporary network glitch or sessions trigger false positives. The following steps are recommended to work around the error:

 

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Try a different browser or use Incognito or private mode.
  3. Clear cache and cookies as old or malformed cookies can trigger WAF signatures.
  4. Connect to a different network.
