Technical Tip: The interface selected in the VIP configuration is grayed out, cannot change the interface.

Description
This article explains how to change the VIP exit interface.
The VIP created with the specific exit interface/any interface and it is used in the configuration.

Once the VIP is referenced to other configurations, it is not possible to change the exit interface and interface config on the VIP shows grayed out as below:

Solution
To change the VIP exit interface, remove all the references to the VIP.

Go to the Policy & Objects -> Virtual IPs
Check Ref.
Click on the number, which shows where the VIP is used.

 

After removing the VIP from the reference configuration, Go back to the Policy & Objects -> Virtual IPs

Select the VIP and Edit

Now it is possible to change the interface on the VIP config.
