Technical Tip: 'The connected FortiAnalyzer does not support the feature' error on ATP widget after upgrading to FortiOS v7.6

Description

This article describes why the Advanced Threat Protection Statistics widget stops showing data and throws the warning 'The connected FortiAnalyzer does not support the feature' after upgrading to FortiOS v7.6.

  Scope

FortiOS v7.6 or higher.

Solution

In previous FortiOS versions, the ATP widget could use shared memory for data processing.

In FortiOS v7.6.0 onward, FortiOS will first attempt to query the local HDD/SSD. If an HDD is not available, FortiAnalyzer and FortiGate Cloud can be used as alternative data sources. However, on FortiGate models without an HDD, the ATP widget will not be available in the GUI after the upgrade and the below warning is observed:

Impact: FortiGate models without an HDD will no longer display the ATP widget after upgrading to FortiOS v7.6.0.
