Description This article describes an issue affecting SSL VPN web mode functionality after upgrading to version 7.4.8 on 2GB models.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

After upgrading the firmware to v7.4.8, the SSL VPN web mode began displaying the message 'Error. Access denied.'.

When running the following debugs, the 'sslvpn check path failederror is seen:

diagnose debug application sslvpn -1
diagnose debug console timestamp enable
diagnose debug enable

This issue affects only the 2GB models and has been resolved in v7.4.9.

In the meantime, the recommended workaround is to downgrade the firmware.

From FortiOS v7.4.8 onward, SSL VPN web and tunnel mode are no longer available on FortiGate G-Series Entry-Level models (such as 50G, 70G, 90G, and their variants).
