Solution | The FortiGate OSPF daemon fails to detect the interface restoration or DHCP re‑assignment event and therefore does not re‑register the interface with ospfd. The interface and IP are functional but ospfd does not scan or bind to the interface automatically, so the FortiGate does not send OSPF Hellos and does not form adjacency. Manually running 'execute router clear ospf process' forces ospfd to rescan interfaces and immediately forms adjacency, proving the problem is an ospfd event detection/race condition. Workaround: Create an automation stitch to run 'execute router clear ospf process' when the WAN interface transitions to up. This automates the manual recovery and restores adjacency without operator intervention.
