Technical Tip: Newly added FortiGate status offline/down in Overlay-as-a-Service portal

Description This article describes a possible cause of the issue where a newly added FortiGate can connect to the internet but appears as offline on the Overlay-as-a-Service portal.
Scope FortiGate, Overlay-as-a-Service.
Solution

FortiGate must be activated on FortiCloud in the same region as OaaS.
If FortiCloud is activated in a different region, FortiGate status will be offline in the OaaS portal.

On FortiGate WebGUI -> Dashboard -> FortiGate Cloud -> Select Logout and then reactivate with the same region as OaaS.
