Technical Tip: ISDB missing region-id and city information
| Description | This article describes a configuration error seen when configuring region-id or city information in an internet-service-name object, for example, Microsoft-Skype_Teams (object ID: 327781):
FG181F-4 (internet-service-name) # edit "MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Calif-USA" new entry 'MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Calif-USA' added FG181F-4 (MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Ca~USA) # set type location FG181F-4 (MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Ca~USA) # set internet-service-id 327781 FG181F-4 (MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Ca~USA) # set country-id 840 FG181F-4 (MSTeams-Skype-US-Only_Ca~USA) # set region-id 283 entry not found in datasource
This was configurable until the end of 2025. |
| Scope | All FortiOS versions. |
| Solution | Since the size of the Internet Service DataBase package has grown vastly and may cause issues with FortiOS functionality, all the city-level info and most of the region-level info from ISDB packages have been removed in order to reduce the number of entries and control the package size.
Certain objects have been changed to use region info published by the vendor, such as 'ap-northeast-1' for AWS, "australiacentral" for Azure.
The action was taken at the end of 2025 and pushed via an ISDB update. |
