Technical Tip: Increase in maximum number of managed FortiAPs

The maximum number of managed FortiAPs has increased in some FortiGate E models for added wireless capability and scalability. This article describes how to see the maximum number of FortiAPs supported in FortiGate E models.

The following comparison table shows the maximum number of FortiAPs supported in FortiGate E models:
To view the maximum in the GUI:
- Go to Wifi &Switch controller -> Managed FortiAPs.
- At the right-side of the page, hover over 'Managed'. The new maximum appears in the information window.FortiGate-201 can support a maximum of 128 Managed FortiAPs with v6.2.
It is possible to find the maximum number of supported FortiAPs for every FortiOS version and FortiGate Appliance combination on the Maximum Values Table page: Maximum Values Table
The parameter to search for is 'wireless-controller.wtp'.
