Description
This article describes how to view the 3G/4G supported modem list.
Scope
Any supported version of FortiGate.
Solution
Enable the modem:
config sys modem
set status enable
end
Next, view the modem tab from GUI under System -> Network -> Modem in FortiGate as shown below:
Note:
In older FortiOS versions, it is present under System -> Network -> Modem.
Once 'Configure modem' is selected, a list of supported modems is displayed.
Make sure to download the latest list from FortiGuard.
This list is maintained by FortiGuard updates.
It is possible to search for the modem in this list:
The list of the supported FortiExtender Modems as of 30 Dec 2024 is given below:
Alternatively, run the following command in the FortiGate CLI to retrieve a list of supported modems:
fnsysctl cat /etc/modem_list.conf
If the modem is not supported, it is still possible to configure the modem manually, as described in this guide:
Configuring an unsupported modem
This process is compared to manually creating unit drivers (instead of automatically installing them) when adding a new unit to the PC system.
