Technical Tip: How to verify the log storage on FortiGate

Go to the Log & Report tab -> Settings -> Local logs.

The available storage space on the FortiGate 61F serves as an example, as each FortiGate comes with a different storage capacity.

To review the storage capacity from CLI:

get log disk setting

diagnose hardware deviceinfo disk

Here is another example of a FortiGate model but with multiple disks:

Note:

The log retention Period by default is configured to store logs for up to 7 days. Logs older than this period are automatically purged.
