Technical Tip: How to show browsing quota on the Fortinet bar (FortiBar)
Description
This article describes that in FortiOS v5.0 or higher, it is possible to enable the Fortinet bar (FortiBar) on the web page to show the remaining browsing quota.
The Quota has to be enabled on the web filter monitored categories, and the web filter has to be applied on the firewall policy to enable Proxy Options (see: Category usage quota). In the current design, the FortiBar is only implemented only HTTP traffic (the feature does not work with encrypted HTTPS traffic) and it operates by injecting HTML elements into the website directly as part of proxy traffic inspection.
