Technical Tip: How to clear Virtual Server hit counters

Description This article describes how to clear Virtual Servers hit counters.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution After the Virtual Server is created and referenced in the firewall policy, its hit count is displayed in the GUI under Policy & Objects -> Virtual Servers when a new session matches that policy.

Active sessions are also visible in the GUI under Dashboard -> Load Balance Monitor, if the Load Balance Monitor widget has been added.

The hit counters can be cleared by editing the related firewall policy and selecting Clear Counters.

From CLI.
Run the following CLI command to reset the packet count option for the firewall policy:

 

diagnose firewall iprope clear 100004 <Policy ID>

 

For example, to reset the value of the count field for the Policy ID 2:

 

diagnose firewall iprope clear 100004 2
