Technical Tip: How to check connected L2TP VPN remote users

It is only possible to view the IPSEC VPN connection under the IPSEC Dashboard on the FortiGate. Even adding an XAuth column on the page, the user will not show here.

 
Connected L2TP VPN users can be confirmed on VPN event logs:

Another option is to add a new widget on the Dashboard and to select FortiView VPN.

 
The FortiView VPN dashboard will include all VPN users connected, including L2TP VPN users.
