Description

This article describes the commands used to check cluster checksums and recalculate the checksum, which were changed from v5.4.0 onwards.

Scope

FortiOS.

Solution

In FortiOS v5.0 and v5.2, the command for checking the checksum was:

# diagnose sys ha cluster-csum

InFortiOS v5.0 and v5.2, the command for recalculating the checksum was:

# diagnose sys ha csum-recalculate

In FortiOS v5.4 and above, the command for checking the checksum is:

# diagnose sys ha checksum cluster

In FortiOS v5.4 and above, the command for recalculating the checksum is:

# diagnose sys ha checksum recalculate

Additionally, specific VDOMs can be individually recalculated in FortiOS v5.4 and above. This is useful if they are not in sync.

Run the following command on ALL cluster devices:

# diagnose sys ha checksum recalculate <VDOM>

For example:

# diagnose sys ha checksum recalculate root
