Technical Tip: FortiOS MIBs download location for older FortiOS versions

Description

This article aims to show the MIB download location for FortiOS versions that are no longer supported.

Scope

FortiGate v4.00 MR3, v5.0,v 5.2 orv 5.4.

Solution

FortiGate MIBs are available for download from the Fortinet Technical Support web site at http://support.fortinet.com.

To download the MIB files:

1. Log into the site using the username and password
2. Once logged in, go to Download -> Firmware Images-> FortiGate -> 'Download' tab
3. Navigate the directory structure to find the FortiOS version, then the MIB directory. Use the 'HTTPS' link to start the download.

• The MIB for v5.2 can also be downloaded directly from the Fortigate itself, in System -> Config -> 'SNMP.
• The MIB for v5.4 can also be downloaded directly from the Fortigate itself, in System -> SNMP.

There are two files, the 'Fortinet Core MIB' (general OIDs) and the 'FortiGate MIB'(specific for each model). Both files are necessary to explore the full MIB, for example with the MIB browser.
