Technical Tip: FortiGuard AntiSpam Whitelist functionality

Description This article describes the whitelist functionality in FortiGuard Antispam.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

The FortiGuard AntiSpam service on a FortiGate unit allow whitelisting specific IP addresses to ensure that emails from these servers are not detected as spam. The FortiGuard AntiSpam (formerly SpamShield) service activated on a FortiGate unit checks IP addresses and/or URLs to detect spam email.

However, it is currently not possible to whitelist a specific domain name that is part of a URL on a FortiGate unit.

If there is a false-positive spam detection for a URL, it is necessary to request its removal from the FortiGuard AntiSpam database.

For a local whitelist feature for URLs, contact the reseller, distributor, or a Fortinet Sales representative to submit a Feature Request.
