Description This article describes a case when having the error message 'Your session is about to timeout'.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

When a user is logged in with any admin profile except the super admin.

When the user enables the never timeout option in the account profile and keeps the FortiGate page idle for 5 minutes. The user will get this message on his FortiGate page after 4:30 seconds (30 seconds for grace to extend the session).

FortiGate will log out the user if the user does not extend the session.

Message:

Your session is about to time out. If you wish to continue your session, please click extend session.

When a user logs in with the default admin account or if the user account has a super admin profile, the never-time-out option is disabled for super admin profiles. Users will get logged out after the idle timeout specified in system settings.
