Description

Virtual VLAN switch builds on the Hardware Switch mode, by allowing VLAN tagging to be configured and the configuration of trunk interface(s).

The ports that can participate in these VLANs and trunk(s) are limited to the Hardware Switch ports only.

Scope

FortiGate-60F.

By default, on these models, the VLAN Switch interface will be visible instead of the hardware switch interface in the GUI when creating a new interface.

Solution

Virtual VLAN switch builds on the Hardware Switch mode by allowing VLAN tagging to be configured and the configuration of trunk interface(s).

The ports that can participate in these VLANs and trunk(s) are limited to the Hardware Switch ports only.

Refer link below to create a VLAN switch.

To enable the hardware switch interface option, disable 'virtual-switch-vlan' from global settings.

config system global

  set virtual-switch-vlan disable

end

To disable virtual-switch-vlan from the GUI, go to System -> Settings and disable VLAN switch mode:
