Technical Tip: FortiGate Cloud SSO Admin Configuration Reverting After Reboot

Description This article describes an issue where the FortiGate Cloud SSO Admin configuration reverts to 'Inherent from FortiGate cloud' after reboot.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution
  1. Log in to the FortiGate Cloud portal to enable remote access and create the FortiGate Cloud SSO Admin on the FortiGate.
  2. Overwrite the FortiGate Cloud SSO Admin setting under System -> Administrators -> FortiGate Cloud SSO Administrator.
  •  Change the profile from Inherit from FortiGate Cloud to Super_Admin.
  •  Reboot the FortiGate.
  1. After the reboot completes, the FortiGate Cloud SSO Admin profile reverts back to Inherit from FortiGate Cloud.

This issue has been resolved in:

  • v7.6.5 (available to download from the Fortinet support portal).
  • v8.0.0 (scheduled to be released in March 2026).
