Description This article describes why the edit option is greyed out in the FortiSwitch ports under WiFI & Switch Controller.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

When 'right-clicking' on the FortiSwitch ports on FortiGate GUI under WiFi & Switch Controller, the edit option is greyed out:

This is an expected behavior when FortiGate manages FortiSwitches the edit option is greyed out.

However, if a VLAN needs to be added or removed, it can be done using the edit option available in the Native VLAN or Allowed VLANs column. Selecting the pen icon in the column allows selection from the list of available VLANs.

Note: As of FortiOS 7.4.8, the behavior of FortiSwitch port edit options on FortiGate has been changed.
For more information, see Troubleshooting Tip: Unable to see or configure features like DHCP blocking, STP, and loop guard on managed FortiSwitch ports in FortiGate GUI after upgrading to FortiOS 7.4.8.

The following is a visual demonstration of how to edit additional features on the FortiSwitch ports page in FortiOS 7.4.8 and above.
