Technical Tip: Fix DHCP Gateway on WAN interface

Description

This article describes how to fix the stuck gateway mask in FortiGate Rugged Firewall.

Scope

FortiGate Rugged Firewall-50G-5G.

FortiGate Rugged Firewall-60F.
FortiGate Rugged Firewall-60F-3G4G.

FortiGate Rugged Firewall-70F.
FortiGate Rugged Firewall-70F-3G4G.

FortiGate Rugged Firewall-70G-5G-DUAL.

Solution

The FortiGate Rugged Firewall:

Have radio bands from a single 3G/4G LTE modem and GPS to a Single 5G modem and GPS.
The configuration on the interface modem overlaps with the configuration on the interface WAN via the GUI.

The FortiGate Rugged Firewall takes all the DHCP settings from the ISP (WAN Interface).

It is necessary to modify the modem configuration with the correct subnet mask provided by the ISP.

set custom-ipv4-netmask 255.255.255.254
