Description This article describes that the extension of two-factor email expiry time does not work for FortiOS 6.4 with FortiClient version 6.0 legacy version.
Scope FortiOS 6.4, FortiClient6.0 legacy version
Solution

With FortiOS 6.4, FortiClient 6.0, legacy version Email two-factor expiry default setting is 60 seconds:

# config system global

two-factor-email-expiry: 60

To extend this time, use the below command:

set two-factor-email-expiry 120

The two-factor authentication fails after 60 seconds while using the FortiClient 6.0 legacy version even after the expiry time has been extended.

The FortiClientVPN (version 7.0.6) is compatible with FortiOS 6.4.

The two-factor email expiry time extension runs as expected.
