Solution

The FortiGate 7xG series model has two options for flash formatting, as shown below:

The differences between these options seen on the BIOS are as follows:

• Fast format: This option only erases initial blocks of partitions.

• Secure format: This option performs whole disk overwrite following 'nist800-88' guidance.
