Technical Tip: Downloading FSSO agent software

This article explains how to download FSSO agent software.    

 

Scope


Download FSSO.


Solution


In order to install FSSO agent-based authentication, the software has to be downloaded from the Fortinet Service and Support web portal.

 

Each firmware version is released together with a corresponding agent version.
Refer to the below process for FortiOS 6.4.

Once logged in to support.fortinet.com,

  1. Select Support -> Firmware Download ->Select Product, and select FortiGate -> Download.
  2. Select the major version folder of the FortiGate (In the example it is v6.00 as the version referred to as 6.4.0).
  3. Select the minor version folder (In the example it is 6.4).
  4. Select the point release folder (In example 6.4.0).
  5. Enter into the FSSO folder and download the next files, Select "HTTPS" on each file to download it

DCAgent_Setup_5.0.0289_x64.exe       <----- Contains DCagent software.
 

FSSO_Setup_5.0.0289_x64.exe           <----- Contains DCagent and Collector software.

TSAgent_Setup_5.0.0289.exe             <----- Contains TS Agent for Citrix server

 

  • Install a version of the FSSO that is the same version as or a higher version than the firmware.

Note: In summary, the `DCAgent_Setup` is for installing the DC Agent on domain controllers, while the 'FSSO_Setup' is for installing the FSSO Collector Agent, which can work with or without the DC Agent.
