Technical Tip: Disabling FortiLink over a LACP bundle

Description

This article is a warning related to disabling FortiLink feature when established over LACP link.

Scope

A FortiLink can be created over a configured and working LACP aggregate.

Disablink the FortiLink feature, will cause in FortiOS 6.2 the change in FortiLink setup.

Solution

By disabling the FortiLink, the LACP mode of the interface will be changed from Static to Active, and this may cause the interface to go down.

A reference of this can be bug 633842, which was fixed in newer versions (6.4.2+).

Make sure that the change is performed during a maintainance window to avoid any traffic disconnection.
