Description This article describes how SSIDs from different VDOMs can be assigned to a FortiAP profile from FortiManager
Scope FortiManager, FortiAP, FortiGate.
Solution

By default, SSIDs from the vdom that manages the  FortiAP can be assigned to the FortiAP profile. However, it is possible to broadcast SSIDs to other VDOMs when having the wtp-share enabled on the fortigate as below:

config wireless-controller global

    set wtp-share enable

end

The

steps below show how SSIDs from different VDOMs can be assigned to the FortiAP profile from FortiManager:

  • If FortiAP central management is enabled, it will not be possible to make these changes from the FortiManager. The first thing that should be done is to disable FortiAP central management from the ADOM settings if enabled.

  • If needed, a new SSID can be created from the AP Manager and choose the correct VDOM for the SSID should be created.

  • Go to the FortiAP profiles and choose the profile that the SSID should be associated with.

  • When choosing SSID, it will be possible to add SSIDs created in a VDOM other than the VDOM which is managing the FortiAP.
