Technical Note: Admin profile 'profadmin' cannot perform firmware upgrades in FortiOS v5.4

Administrator profile “profadmin” cannot perform firmware upgrades from GUI in FortiOS v5.4.x

Since version 5.4.0 only “super_admin” profile is able to upgrade FortiOS firmware from GUI, all other profiles are limited.

However, “prof_admin” profile may still execute a firmware by upgrading the firmware via the CLI
