| Steps or Commands | When a FortiGate unit is in Transparent mode, there is a limit of 255 interfaces allowed. This applies to virtual LANs (VLANs) as well as other types of interfaces. If virtual domains (VDOMs) are enabled, this limit is per VDOM.
