Troubleshooting Tip: Error 'interface [interface name] IP is 0, VPN=[vpn name]' when VPN policy applied to FortiGate

Description
This article explains why below error will apply when VPN is configured into the FortiGate with dynamic IP interface.

'interface <interface name> IP is 0, VPN=<vpn name>'

Solution
If VPN manager is configured with VPN configuration mesh mode, start mode and hub in the dial-up mode on a dynamic interface.

When the policy gets to be installed, the following warning will show up:
'interface <fortiextender interface> IP is 0, VPN=< VPNname>'

This is by design.
If dynamic IP is being used for the interface like DHCP, or Fortiextender interface, the interface of the FortiGate will show in the Fortimanager as 0.0.0.0
