Technical Tip: FortiEDR license generation for on-premises environments

Description

This article describes how to generate and install a FortiEDR license for an on-premises deployment.

Scope

FortiEDR on-premises.

Solution

The FortiEDR on-premises environment must be registered with FortiCloud Services (FCS) before the license file can be downloaded.

From the FortiEDR Manager interface, copy the Installation ID.

Log in to the Fortinet Support Portal using the master account credentials: Welcome to Fortinet Support.

Navigate to Services -> Cloud Services -> FortiEDR.

The registration option will be available on this page.

To complete the registration, provide the following information:

• Customer Name.

• Installation ID.

• Public IP Address.

Once the registration is successfully completed, the license blob will be available for download from the same page.

Download the license blob from the Support Portal: Welcome to Fortinet Support.

In the FortiEDR manager, select Load New License. The Load New License window will open. Copy and paste the license string and select Load License.
