Description

This article describes where attempting to extract a collector MSI file may fail due to compatibility issues or limitations associated with specific extraction tools.

For example, using WinRAR to extract the MSI file is known to cause errors or incomplete extractions.

This can lead to difficulties in accessing the required files or resources contained within the MSI package. Such issues are typically attributed to the way certain tools handle the structure or encoding of MSI files, rendering them unsuitable for this task.

Solution

To obtain and extract the Collector MSI, navigate to Administration → Licensing → Request Collector Installer within the system interface. From there, request the installer and a download link will be sent to the registered email address. Once the email is received, download the installer file via the provided link.

After downloading, use 7-Zip to extract the contents of the MSI package, ensuring a smooth and complete extraction process. This method ensures that all necessary files within the collector package are properly retrieved for further use or configuration.
