Technical Tip : Explaining FortiEDR error 'Please upgrade Manager and Core'

Description

This article describes how to resolve errors when Cloud core and On-prem core are not in the same version.

Solution

Below error may be observed in the notification:

Note:

Make sure the Cloud core version and On-prem device version are the same.

If an upgrade on an On-prem device is required, follow the below steps:

Take a snapshot of the instance.
Copy the required file to the Core in local/temp folder.
Connect through SSH to the device.
Edit directory /tmp using cd/tmp.
Use the ls -al command to make sure the FortiEDRInstaller<filename>.x binary file is present.
Edit file permission to execute by using the command: chmod +x FortiEDRInstallerFILENAME.x
Run the installation binary file by using the command: ./FortiEDRInstallerFILENAME.x
Complete the installation.
