Description

This article describes when Win7 or Win 2008 R2 SP1 collectors are not being upgraded when in a collector group that has been set to automatic upgrade collectors.

Scope

Specific for OS version: Windows 7 & Windows 2008 R2 SP1.

Example: Windows 7 collector is not being upgraded and showing in the collector group set to upgrade to v5.0.3.x in a degraded state.

Solution

- Check the problematic system to verify that it has KB2921916 installed. This can be verified in sysinfo log or view under installed updates.

- On Windows 7, patch KB2921916 needs to be installed for the upgrade to be successful, if missing the upgrade will fail until the patch is installed. A collector reboot will be required after installation.

- On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 patch KB2921916 needs to be installed for the upgrade to be successful, if missing the upgrade will fail until the patch is installed. A collector reboot will be required after the installation.
