Description This article describes that as of February 3rd, 2025, due to PCI compliance, SSL and TLS 1.0 will be deprecated on the FortiAP dispatcher. The consequence is that the Access Point products running the operating system versions below will no longer be able to be dispatched to FortiGates, FortiEdge Cloud, and FortiSASE.
Scope

FortiAP 6.0.1 and below, FortiAP-S 6.0.1 and below, FortiAP-W2 6.0.1 and below, FortiAP-U 6.0.4 and below.

Solution

To ensure proper dispatch of already deployed FortiAPs, it is recommended to upgrade them to the below-mentioned firmware versions:

  1. FortiAP 6.0.1 and above.
  2. FortiAP-S 6.0.1 and above.
  3. FortiAP-W2 6.0.1 and above.
  4. FortiAP-U 6.0.4 and above.

Notes:

  • FortiAP, FortiAP-S, and FortiAP-W2 with versions 5.4.x and 5.6.x will not have this change, it is therefore recommended to upgrade to a more recent version.
  • Legacy FortiAP hardware such as FAP-xxxB models cannot be upgraded to one of the fixed firmware and don’t have a release containing the fix. Reach out to Customer Support to obtain one interim build with the fix.
  • A CSB has been published on the support portal: CSB-241014-1.
