Technical Tip: High CPU consumption from jazzdesktop.exe, and/or 'sluggish' mouse
| Description | This article discusses High CPU consumption from jazzdesktop.exe, and/or 'sluggish' mouse. |
| Scope | FortiDLP. |
| Solution | Symptom: The FortiDLP Agent process jazzdesktop.exe is consistently consuming between 5 and 10% CPU on a machine:
Cause: Motion screenshots are enabled for a FortiDLP Agent in the agent configuration settings:
Explanation: The motion screenshots feature on the FortiDLP Agent provides the ability for screenshot actions to create a short collection of screenshots leading up to a policy violation or manual screenshot action. To achieve this, the FortiDLP Agent is required to continuously capture screenshots for any active user sessions once per second.
If a trigger occurs such as a policy violation with a screenshot action occurs, the previous few screenshots will be compiled into a clip, if no trigger occurs the screenshots are discarded. This screenshot process is somewhat CPU intensive but required to ensure a continuous capture of historic events.
Resolution: Setting the Screenshot action mode to 'Static' will reduce CPU consumption. |
