Description This article describes that downgrading from 10.3.1 to releases earlier than 10.3.0 will stop the Reveal Agent.
Scope FortiDLP.
Solution

Summary:

Downgrading from 10.3.1 to versions earlier than 10.3.0 will result in the Reveal Agent failing to start. To downgrade from 10.3.1 or later to versions earlier than 10.3.0, customers must first downgrade to 10.3.0, then downgrade further.

Impact:

Users who have upgraded to 10.3.1 and subsequently need to downgrade may find the Reveal Agent no longer starts correctly. Events cannot be reported to the Reveal platform and policy engine actions will not be available.

Root Cause:

The 10.3.0 Reveal Agent and later versions contain a new database schema, which is not understood by the 10.2.0 version or earlier.

Solution:

Re-installing any version later than 10.3.1 will resolve the issue. This must be done either manually or via a fleet management solution. Users using the Reveal platform auto-update feature to downgrade can still do so but must ensure to downgrade to 10.3.0 before a further downgrade.
