This article describes how to verify that the FortiDeceptor license purchased includes a Windows license.

The error:

Failed to initialize decoy due to exception: name=test, exception=failed to create clone win10v1_cl_xxxxxxxxx

Solution

dcvm-license –l

From the GUI, navigate to System -> 'FDC license' -> All deception OS include Windows.

Note:

By default, the FortiDeceptor VM subscription model does not include a Windows license.

For FortiDeceptor 100G and VME, there is no windows license requires, as they are working as agents.
