Troubleshooting Tip: Getting error when connecting FortiClient to FortiClientEMS server

Description This article describes a solution for the error 'An invitation code required' received when trying to connect FortiClient to FortiClientEMS by using IP Address.
Scope FortiClient, FortiEMS.
Solution

The following error message may appear when connecting to FortiClient:

Getting this error because when invitation-only registration is enforced on FortiEMS, future FortiClients will not be able to register without an invitation code.

 

Solution:

Use the invitation code to connect to FortiEMS or change the EMS setting to connect without an Invitation Code as below:


Log in to the EMS server under System Settings -> EMS Settings -> Enforce invitation-only registration for and change it to None:
