There are three symptoms that can be observed.

  1. The upgrade gets stuck at 50% in automatic and manual upgrades.
  2. The FortiManager Log shows the upgrade status as having executed successfully.

  1. The status email from FortiClient EMS shows failure.

Status email from FortiClient Endpoint Management Server (EMS):

FortiClient EMS upgrade scheduled to version 7.4.5 has finished with status 'FAILED'.
FortiClient EMS has been rescheduled to upgrade from version 7.4.3.1926 to 7.4.5 on 2026-March-10 08:59 (FortiClient EMS server time).

FortiClient EMS cannot complete a version upgrade, and the results are as follows:

$> system get info
EMS Version: 7.4.3.1926
FIPS Enabled: no
OS Version: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Linux Kernel: 6.8.0-55-generic
RAM: 11Gi (73.16% used)
CPU: 6 Cores

This problem mostly occurs when FortiClient EMS has no full access to the internet. Make sure it has full internet access during the upgrade period.
