Troubleshooting Tip: Error when connecting FortiClient to FortiClientEMS server

Description This article describes a solution for the error 'An error has occurred when connecting to FortiClient Cloud' received when trying to connect FortiClient to FortiClient Cloud by using an Invitation Code.
Scope FortiClient, FortiClient EMS.
Solution

The following error message may appear when connecting to FortiClient:

Solution:

  1. Verify the invitation code to ensure it is valid and has not expired. The Invitation must be active and usable.

  2. Identify the type of invitation code: Individual or Bulk.


Individual: To send the code to a single recipient. It will not work for multiple clients.

Bulk: To send the code to multiple clients.

If set to Individual, change it to Bulk.

  1. If the existing code fails, generate a new Invitation Code and then verify it.
