Technical Tip: WAN Optimization Feature is not available after installation of FortiClient

This article explains how to enable the FortiClient WAN Optimization Feature if it is not available after the installation of FortiClient.

Solution
If the WAN Optimization feature is not available after the installation of FortiClient it can be enabled by an edit to the FortiClient Msi package.
The default value for this feature is not enabled.
Download msi editor tools 'orca msi editor', open FortiClient.msi and find the /Feature/Feature_WanAcceleration. Change the display value to 1. Save the changes.
Uninstall and then re-install FortiClient in order to now enable the WAN Optimization feature.
After the completion of the installation, the WAN Optimization feature should be available.
