Technical Tip : Unable to Shutdown FortiClient when connected EMS

Description This article describes how to enable the Shutdown option on FortiClient when it is connected to EMS
Scope FortiClient.
Solution

The screenshot below shows that the 'Shutdown FortiClient' option is greyed out:

To enable it, log in to FortiClient Management Server (EMS) under Endpoint Profiles -> System Settings -> Select and Edit the Profile that is configured for the Endpoint:

Enable 'Allow User to Shutdown When Registered to EMS' and Save :

Afterwards, the 'Shutdown FortiClient' option will be available for FortiClient:

Note:

This feature is only available for FortiClient (Windows), and the user must have admin privileges to shut down FortiClient.
