| Solution | Limitations of the Free Trial License: Transferring Configurations from the Free Trial License: -
If a new license purchase is made and the settings from the trial period need to be retained, the new license must be registered as a separate unit. -
This will generate a new serial number/unit within FortiCloud Asset Management. The same FortiCloud account used for the free trial license should be used. -
Once the new unit is available in Asset Management, the Hardware ID from the trial unit must be copied to the new unit. -
The Hardware ID can be located under the Product Information section in the EMS unit within Asset Management. Decommissioning the Free Trial Unit: -
The free trial unit must be decommissioned before proceeding with synchronization. -
Follow the steps in the link below to decommission the unit: Viewing decommissioned units -
After decommissioning, go to FortiClient EMS and select 'Sync License Now'. -
FortiClient EMS will synchronize the serial number based on the Hardware ID, automatically updating to reflect the new unit registration. |
