Technical Tip: How to remove FortiClient Web Filter extension from browser using EMS Web Filter profile

Description This article explains how to remove the plugin from the Windows OS browser.
Scope FortiClient v7.2.5 or later, v7.4.1 or later.
Solution

Do the following under the EMS Web filter profile to remove the FortiClient extension from the browser:

  • Disable the option 'Enable Web Browser Plugin for Web Filtering' and Save.

  • Set the tag <keep_extension_when_managed> to zero:

Restart the browser after this change.
