Technical Tip: How to clean system when virus prevents download of latest FortiClient package

This article explains how to clean an infected system with FortiClient, in the case where a virus on the infected system prevents downloading of the new FortiClient package.

Solution
1) Boot into 'safe mode with networking' (which is required for the FortiClient installer to download the latest signature packages from the Fortinet Distribution Network).
2) Run the FortiClient installer.
Microsoft Windows will not allow FortiClient installation to complete in safe mode. An error message will be generated. It is necessary to reboot back into normal mode to complete the installation.
