Description This article describes how to avoid endpoints disconnecting from EMS when doing a server migration.
Scope FortiClient EMS.
Solution

When migrating one EMS from one server to another, the endpoints can disconnect from the EMS after migration; the endpoints/users need to manually connect by telemetry.

To avoid this, before migration, enable the option 'not allowed user to disconnect'. Enable and set a password for the 'Require Password to Disconnect From EMS' option under Endpoints Profiles -> System Settings -> System Setting Profile used.

Select 'Save' after changes are made.

Ensure the Endpoints are connected to EMS in order to receive the config changes in time. Endpoints not connected to EMS will not receive such settings, and it will not work.

For further details on how to make an EMS migration, refer to this document: Migrating to another EMS instance

Note:

After the migration process, Endpoints and EMS should use the same IP/FQDN for the telemetry connection.
