Technical Note: FortiClient does not fully display the email message body in Microsoft Outlook

Description
When FortiClient 5.4 in installed on Windows 7, 10 – 64 bit, some of the emails in Microsoft Outlook are displayed empty, and the content (body) of the message is unreadable especially when an email contains an attachment, other fields such as “FROM, TO, SUBJECT” appear blank.

Solution
1) Create a Backup FortiClient configuration.

2) Save the backup FortiClient configuration to the Desktop.

3) Open the FortiClient backup file with a text editor, for example Notepad.

4) Search for the following fields:
<email>
<smtp>1</smtp>
<pop3>1</pop3>
<outlook>1</outlook>
</email>
5) Change the xml value <pop3> from 1 to 0.

      From: <pop3>1</pop3> to <pop3>0</pop3>

6.    Save changes.

7.    Restore FortiClient backup configuration.
