Description
Since the release of FortiClient 4.0MR1 Patch 2 , FortiClient implements two separate virus databases – the core database (containing active virus signatures) and the extended database (containing older or “zoo” list viruses). Both databases are now used by both the Standard and Premium clients.

No configuration changes are required in the Standard client.
For both versions, the extended AV database is automatically downloaded when the client first connects to the FortiGuard servers.
In the Premium client, the option to enable/disable the extended AV database has been removed.
Once the extended database has been downloaded, future AV database updates are deltas only.

Scope
All FortiClient Standard and Premium Users using version 4.1.2 and above.
