Troubleshooting Tip: User Group Removal After CSV User Imports on FortiAuthenticator

Description

 

This article describes how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue where user group memberships are lost or removed after importing users via a CSV file on FortiAuthenticator.

 

Scope

 

FortiAuthenticator.

 

Solution

 

Importing local users from a CSV file removes other existing local users from the group. Before importing users from a CSV file, the user's group information is present.

Once the CSV file is imported it shows that the user imported successfully:

After importing the new user, the group information for existing local users is removed.

The issue has been reported with a known issue ID 1036821 on v6.6.1, and v6.6.2 and it is planned to be resolved in v6.6.3, v7.0.0.
